This book is aimed at expectant mothers, though it’s funny and engaging style means it would be enjoyed by a wider readership. The book developed as an idea in the context of a group of friends who met at an antenatal group. The book describes their different experiences of pregnancy and birth and expresses the many unspoken anxieties that expectant parents may be keeping to themselves. It covers a broad range of topics, reflecting the friend’s experiences. Many questions about emotions, body- changes, hormones, exercise and sex, are addressed in a refreshing way not achievable in the more factual pregnancy texts. It is a moving, insightful and entertaining book that brings real feeling to this very particular phase of life.
