This is a book for the parents of young children who are considering potty training, or those who have already tried it and are encountering difficulties.
From considering when to start trying to potty train to a number of different approaches that you might want to try, this book is a mine of useful hints. The opinions of parents are included to help parents make decisions about what is right for them and their child(-ren). Potty training can be worrying for any parent or child. This book takes time to address some of the special issues that the parents of twins and children with disabilities might face.
Successful Potty Training deals with many day-to-day issues including what to do when you’re out and about and dealing with accidents- even how to get rid of stains from furniture. At the other end of the spectrum there is information on how to deal with problems, or to identify issues that may need more support- and what to do about them. The content is based both on the work of the author and extensive research and the varied material is consistently addressed sensitively by the author. This book is down to earth and practical but not bossy and encourages parents to increase their confidence in dealing with this aspect of their child’s development.
